So much to blog about, so little motivation.
Let's see if I can blog while the kids watch Dora.
When I was ten or eleven years old a popular toy for boys was something called a Stomper. It was a little motorized battery powered truck. It took one AA battery, had an on/off switch, and that was it. Well, you could actually buy a bunch of accessories, like tracks and a truck-pull sled, but the truck itself was not remotely controlled or anything.
I really liked those little things.
One day my cousins came to visit, and they too enjoyed playing with my Stomper. At one point we all loaded up and went to visit some state parks in our area. At one stop, my cousins placed my Stomper on the bumper of their dad's truck (a real truck, btw). They forgot all about it being there. We loaded up again and made our way down the road. When we got to our next stop, someone noticed that the Stomper was on the bumper! It stayed on the bumper from one stop to the next, which wasn't exactly around the corner.
Last Sunday, in order to get out of the drive, I needed to shovel the snow. OK, I could've gotten out, but I wouldn't have been able to get back in after church; my drive is quite steep. So I got it all shoveled, then I decided to spread some salt. I needed to open the bag of salt a little wider, so I got my utility knife out of my tool bucket. After opening the bag, I laid my knife, yes, on the bumper of my van. I thought, "I have to remember to put that knife back."
You know what happened already. Sometime that afternoon, after going to and from church, I noticed my knife on the back bumper. Even though I'd had experience with this sort of thing, I was still amazed. My bumper is your typical hard plastic substance or something, and has a slight slope downward. Like I said, my drive is very steep, so backing down should've let the knife slide right off. If not backing down, then pulling back up.
There is a little article on Wikipedia about Stompers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stompers
OK, that was the most interesting thing I could think to blog about today.
